DATI-RATI mayayamang gobyerno lang ang nakakapag-landing ng space craft sa buwan. Ngayon mga pribadong kumpanya na ang nagkakarera patungo du’n.

Tatlo silang nag-uunahan. Pare-parehong walang crew. Isa ang Hakuto-R Mission 1 ng kumpanyang Hapon, iSpace. Disyembre 11 pa ito ni-launch ng Falcon 9 rocket na gawa ng SpaceX ni Elon Musk. Apat na buwan ang biyahe para tipid sa fuel. (Matulin ang Apollo missions ng NASA, ilang araw lang ang lipad, pero magastos sa fuel lalo na para bumagal muna at makapasok sa lunar orbit.)

Lalampas muna ang Hakuto-R nang 1.4 milyong kilometro sa buwan. Tapos, dakong katapusan ng Abril, magpi-free fall ito papasok sa lunar orbit. Mula orbit magdi­diskarga ito ng dalawang maliliit na moon rovers. Isang rover ay kasing-liit ng baseball pero maraming camera. Susuriin ang lupain ng buwan.

 

Baka mauna pa ang dalawang spaceships na paliliparin ngayong Marso. Gagamit din ng Falcon 9 rocket ang Nova-C, proyekto ng bagong kumpanyang Intuitive Machines sa Texas. Anim na araw lang ang biyahe. Didirekta ito sa buwan, wala nang pasikot-sikot, sa paniwalang maiiwasan nu’n ang nakakasirang radiation. Matapos ang ma­ikling orbit, la-landing mismo sa buwan ang Nova-C saka lang maluluwal ng rovers.

Ang Peregrine, tulad ng Nova-C, ay kumopya ng teknolohiyang Morpheus moon landing ng NASA. At pareho silang pinakiusapan na magkarga ng kagamitan ng NASA para sa saliksik. Gawa ng Astrobotic Technology sa Pennsylvania ang Peregrine.

Nanalo sa Paris arbitration nu’ng Mar. 2022 ang Sulu Sul­tanate kontra Malaysia. Pinagbabayad ng korte ang Ma­laysia ng $14.92-bilyong upa sa paggamit sa Sabah nang 200 taon. Ayaw tumupad ng Malaysia. Ayaw tumulong ng Marcos admin para makasingil ang Sulu Sultanate.

Dalawa ang habla ng Pilipinas kontra Malaysia. Una ang pagsingil ng Sulu Sultanate ng upa. Ikalawa ang sobe­renya ng Pilipinas sa Sabah. Pitong punto ang nagpanalo sa Sultanate sa Paris. Pinaninindigan ng gobyernong Pilipino ang pitong punto ring ‘yon sa usaping soberenya:

(1) Pag-aari dati ang Sabah ng Sultan ng Brunei. Ibinayad niya ito nu’ng 1704 sa Sultan ng Sulu na tumulong sugpuin ang rebelyon doon.

(2) Sa mga dumaang panahon kinilala ng Britain, Netherlands at Spain ang soberenya ng Sultan ng Sulu sa Sabah sa pakiki-tratado dito.

(3) 1878 ipinaupa ng Sultan ng Sulu kay Austrian Baron de Overbeck ang Sabah ng $1,000 kada taon. Hindi nagtagal, inilipat ni Overbeck ang rights sa Sabah kay British Alfred Dent. Ipinasa naman ni Dent ang rights sa tinatag niyang British North Borneo Company.

 

(4) Kinalaunan inilipat ng BNBC ang rights sa British Crown. July 10, 1946, ika-anim na araw ng kasarinlan ng Pilipinas mula America, inangkin ng British Crown ang soberenya sa North Borneo (Sabah).

(5) Dekada-’60, linahad ng gobyernong Pilipino sa UN ang soberenya sa Sabah. Dahil hindi mga estado, walang poder sina Overbeck at Dent ipasa ang soberenya sa Crown. Wala rin karapatan ang Crown na isali ang Sabah sa Malaysia na pinalaya nu’ng Sep. 16, 1963.

(6) Itinabi ng Pilipinas ang usapin dahil sa gulo sa Mindanao at tulong ng Malaysia sa peace process. Samantala, nagpa-referendum ang Malaysia at mayorya raw ang nais manatili ang Sabah sa Malaysia. Tinuligsa ito ng Pilipinas dahil hindi malayang nakaboto ang Sabahons.

(7) Nakaugat ang pag-aari ng Sulu Sultanate sa Sabah sa lease contract ni Overbeck tapos kina Dent, BNBC, Crown, at Malaysia, na nagbayad ng $1,000 taon-taon. 2013 huminto magbayad ang Malaysia.

HINDI kataka-takang lumiliit ang utak ng ina habang nagdadalantao. Kasabay nang maraming pagbabago sa katawan niya sa siyam na buwan ay ang epekto sa utak. Aakalain mo na hindi maaapektuhan ang mga ama, kasi hindi naman sila nabubuntis. Mali. Umuurong din ang utak nila kapag nagkasanggol.

Natuklasan ito ni Dr. Magdalena Martinez-Garcia ng Gregorio Marañon Health Research Institute, Madrid. Ineksperimento niya ang 20 ama sa Spain at 20 sa America na malapit na magka-anak. Control group ang 17 lalake sa Spain na hindi buntis ang misis. Dalawang beses sinukat ang laki ng utak nila, gamit ang magnetic-resonance imaging (MRI) scan, isang taon ang pagitan. ‘Yong unang 40 ama ay dumaan sa MRI bago at pagkatapos ng panganganak, ulat ng The Economist.

MAS tumitindi ang bagyo sa Pilipinas. Pero kulang sa inu­ming tubig. Walang koneksyong-tubig ang mga maralitang taga-lungsod. At lalong walang tubo ang mga layu-layong bahay sa kanayunan. Umiigib pa sa malayong poso o balon ang mga ina at bata. Naaabala ang pag-alaga sa anak; nagu­gulo ang pag-aaral at paglalaro.

Sakit ang idinudulot ng maruming tubig. Isang bata sa mundo ang namamatay kada dalawang minuto dahil dito. Bukod pa ang dengue at malaria na dala ng mga lamok mula sa pusali at tubig-tigang.

Nasa batas na dapat maghukay ng water impoundment sa pinaka-mabababang lugar ng bawat barangay. Gamit ang bagong teknolohiya, mapi-filter ang naipong tubig para panlinis man lang. Tungkulin ng gobyerno na kabitan ng tubo bawat bahay, tindahan at opisina. Kaya nga may Metro­politan Waterworks and Sewerage System at Local Water Utilities Administration. Dapat protektahan ng Department of Environment and Natural Resources at mga lokal na gobyerno ang watersheds.

Kasing halaga ng inuming tubig ang tubig pangkubeta. Tularan sana ng gobyerno ang ginawa sa India. Isang dekada noon namahagi ang pamunuan ng India ng inidoro sa bawat bahay. Itinuro sa mga ina ng tahanan kung saan ito ikakabit, gaano kalaki at kalalim ang imburnal, at kalapit na gripo. Bakit ang ina? Siya kasi ang nag-aasikaso sa kalusugan ng tahanan, kasama ang pagkain, tubig at gamot.

(8) Inusisa ng bulag ang Diyos: “May lalala pa ba sa pagkawala ng paningin?” Sinagot siya: “oo, kung mawalan ka ng pananaw.”

(9) Kapag pinagdasal mo ang iba, nakikinig ang Diyos at binabasbasan sila; at tandaan na kung ikaw ay ligtas at magin­hawa, ‘yon ay dahil ipinagdasal ka ng iba.

(10) Hindi naaalis ng pag-aalala ang mga suliranin sa bukas, inaalis nu’n ang katiwasayan ng ngayon.

(1) Binalewala ng CCP ang panawagan ng mundo na ihinto ang $79 bilyon kada taong wildlife trade, tulad ng pa­niki at pangolin na sanhi ng 2003 SARS-CoV-1. (2) Pinag­takpan ng CCP nu’ng Nov. 2019 ang pagsibol ng virus sa Wuhan; inaresto at pinatahimik ang mga doktor na unang nag-ulat.
